Shamanism has been practiced across the planet for tens of thousands of years. According to archeological and anthropological research, the practice emerged almost simultaneously on every continent and island group. It did not migrate from one place to another, as we currently believe oral wisdom spreads.
Shamans would say that it grew from the earth.
Contemporary shamanism draws upon this ancient worldview and the practices that have been passed down through the ages, and strives to make them applicable to our contemporary society. By doing so, practitioners and teachers bring the ancient wisdom to bear on our current personal, community, and global challenges.
The practice of contemporary shamanism can lead to a more integrated life, attuned to nature, and aligned with the whole of Life on Earth. |
